      Hey planting enthusiasts!

Today, I want to share my opinion between High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) lights and Light-Emitting Diode (LED) grow lights. In many of our customer’s experiences, LED grow lights take the crown as the superior choice for indoor planting.

Energy Efficiency: LED grow lights are the champions of energy efficiency. They consume significantly less power compared to HPS lights, which means lower electricity bills and a reduced carbon footprint. Who doesn’t love saving money while being environmentally conscious?

Customizable Spectrum: LED grow lights offer a game-changing advantage with their customizable spectrum options. By combining different colored LEDs, you can tailor the light output to meet the specific needs of your plants at different growth stages. From vibrant blue for vegetative growth to stimulating red for flowering(like our spider farmer full-spectrum LED grow lights, UV bar 30W, or UVR bar 40w), LED lights provide the versatility that HPS lights lack.

Heat Management: LED grow lights emit considerably less heat compared to HPS lights. This not only ensures a safer environment for your plants but also eliminates the need for complex cooling systems. With LEDs, you can position the lights closer to your plants without fear of heat damage, maximizing their growth potential.

Longevity and Durability: LED grow lights have a longer lifespan compared to HPS lights. With proper care, they can last for several years, saving you from frequent replacements. Additionally, LEDs are solid-state devices, making them more resistant to vibrations and shocks, ensuring their durability over time.

I’d love to hear your thoughts! Do you agree that LED grow lights are the best way to go for indoor planting?
Or do you know any other good tools for indoor planting?
Together, we can uncover more perspectives and make informed choices for our thriving indoor gardens.

I believe that LED’S are better because of less heat and cost of energy consumption. But I’ve never used hps so thats just me. I’ve heard from both sides. Some like hps and others like LEDS.

Hi Everyone, just joined! First time grower. I have purchased (1) SF2000pro and (2) of the SF1000. I’m just wondering what the light setting and distance should be? I think I have it dialed in but not sure. I have them set at 50% for both my rooms, the plants are approximately 4-5 weeks old and the lights are about 12” above the plants. Thank you, very excited about growing!

Take a look of the ppfd maps available in SF home page under every light you can see the pff map and hanging distance. Also look an app called Photon. With that you can have a better info of your ppfd on canopy level. Happy growing 👍
