Just wondering if any of you guys watch any YouTubers or listen to any podcasts about growing. I’ve been watching Rob from cltv, Mr grow it, growers network, Migro, Mr Canucks grow, and probably more that in forgetting at the moment. The main podcast that I’ve been listening to is growcast with Jordan Rivers. I also occasionally listen to the cannabis potcast, but that’s more of a general overview of cannabis in Canada rather than about growing specifically.
What are some of the content creators you guys enjoy?

Sweet, I’ll have to check them out. I’ve heard of Dr bugbee, and apogee instruments, but I didn’t realize they had a YouTube channel.

Yeah I been watching T.D @ calijuana and a professor on a few subjects the professor was from Nevada I do believe, but TD has an awesome scrog htow for the best yield, dude this plant is 6 feet tall and 5 feet around and they’re outside but damn it’s got 2 level of scrog net around it . There’s definitely many things that are cool to see and there’s some false information and some true information as I’m sure we all know that’s why I like to see it happening
Happy Growing

Cannabis Cultivation and Science podcast by Tad Hussey/KISS organics is probably my favourite podcast.
The only youtube pot show I consistently watch is the Adam Dunn Show as it reminds me of the kind of chatter you’d hear working in pot shops but it’s mostly for entertainment value more the educational.

I followed the cannabis cultivation and science on my podcast player, but I think I’ve only listened to an episode or two. I can remember exactly what it was that threw me off, whether it was just a dry subject, or it went over my head, or if it was zoom quality audio (I’m a bit of an audio nerd, so poor quality recordings kind of drive me nuts). I’ll have to give it another shot though.

The quality of the audio is definitely an issue on some episodes, some are definitely better/worse then others. In terms of quality of info I haven’t found a better source, there’s an episode where they talk about defoliation with someone who actually studied the photosynthetic rate at different PPFD levels and showed that leaves become carbon sinks below a certain intensity. Which validates lollipopping plants but also shows how most people strip their plants isn’t logical. Sometimes you need to bear through to get the gold, it is pretty technical and can be fairly high level discussions though, not necessarily for the beginners.
Which is something worth pointing out, a lot of the easier to digest/understand content isn’t necessarily accurate and everything should be taken with a grain of salt as we are just learning the optimal way to grow indoors now that universities are digging into researching it as the next big cash crop. The UoG was the first to announce their spending millions building a new plant lab specifically for cannabis research as they vie to keep their place as one of the top ag uni’s in North America.

That’s a good point about the quality of the information. Personally I like ones where they interview a specialist, and then the host will ask questions about it from the perspective of a layman. I personally like to listen to them for introductions to broad concepts, which I can then look into afterwards. Mostly I listen to podcasts while I’m driving, so I’m not in a position to take notes anyways, so I’m not able to fully digest the super dense scientific podcasts. They can be interesting, but I tend to not be able to fully recall them after anyways.

Trimming is when I usually get into the KISS podcast as I’m stuck sitting still for hours without much mental stimulation and can easily process the info or take notes about points of interest to come back to. I use to toss on movies while trimming but it’s the ideal time for podcasts to occupy the mind without distracting the hands.

Fair enough. That would definitely be a good time to listen to a podcast about growing science. Usually when I’m trimming I’ll just watch stuff on my computer since I do my trimming at my desk anyway.
